Focus On is the new non-competitive section of the Cisterna Film Festival, an absolute novelty of this third edition, born from the desire to explore other realities culturally and geographically distant from ours, to know these countries through their eyes and those of their cinematography. It is also an excellent opportunity to cooperate with the institutions that represent them on our territory and to show their work and their activities to a wider and more varied public.
This year’s choice fell on Poland, a country very productive from the point of view of the film industry.
Here are the titles of the program:
Adaptacja (Adattamento / Poland, 2016, 24’) by Bartosz Kruhlik
Alegoria ekologiczna czyli leokadii i ildefonsa łip wstecz (Allegoria ecologica ovvero uno sguardo indietro di Leocadia e Ildefonso / Poland, 2016, 6’) by Tomasz Pawlak
Druciane oprawki (Montature di fil di ferro / Poland, 2014, 14’) by Bartosz Kędzierski

The screenings of the selected shortfilms will take place on July 21st and 23rd from 7.00pm to 9.00pm in the Library of Cisterna di Latina and have been organized with the participation of the Polish Institute of Rome and the O!PLA, an independent animation film festival created in 2013 by Piotr Kardas. Now in its fifth edition, the festival includes medium and high budget films, produced in professional or independent studios, essays made in some of the leading Polish animation schools, music videos, animated epigrams, abstract and experimental animations. The OR!PLA is a traveling event: presented first in different cities of Poland, and then taken on a world tour that last year has touched 34 cities in 5 continents.
On the first day of the screening, Lorenzo Costantino, head of the Polish film industry, will take part.
