Almost 4,200 short films from all around the world: these are the official data after the expiration of the competition announcement of the second edition of the Cisterna Film Festival – International Short Film Festival, under the pontine direction of Cristian Scardigno’s artistic management in cooperation with Marianna Cozzuto’s Associazione Culturale MOBilitazioni Artistiche.

Comparing the numbers of the two editions, the participation growth is incredible: in 2015 about 3,500 short films arrived in three months, this year in just two months the works submitted are slightly below 4,200, and came from a larger number of states, exactly 124. Most were sent from the US, Spain and Italy, but also countries such as Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Uganda, Mali, Libya, Congo, Armenia, Bahrain and many others joined the competition.

These are exciting data and they show the growing of appreciation at the global level about this festival. A festival born from the desire of few young people, engaged in the field of cinema and the performing arts, in order to bring in their own town a breath of culture and quality performance in the form of independent cinema, aiming to make this event a shine reason of pride for Cisterna di Latina, and not just locally.
The next appointment is in few weeks. We will know the finalists’ names, who will be nominated after a precise job selection by the staff of Cisterna Film Festival, and the official days of the three evenings that will take place this summer at the Palazzo Caetani, to the end of which it will be determined the winner of this second edition of the #Cff2.
