The third edition of Cisterna Film Festival is full of novelties. First, the days of the Festival have been changed, moving them from August to July 21st, 22nd and 23rd. In addition, as already announced during the “Aperilibro con Alberto Crespi” event, one of the major differences with the past years concerns the categories: the new entry Focus On (out of competition), which will each year propose a selection of short films coming from a specific country in the world. This year, we start with a focus on Poland in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Rome, which will present a selection of the best and recent short films from Poland.
“The new Focus On section is born from the desire to explore other distant realities for culture and geography, so that we can know these countries through their eyes and those of their cinematography. It is also, a great opportunity to work in partnership with the institutions that represent them in our territory, and to show their work and activities to a wider and varied audience”, said the organizers of the Cisterna Film Festival.
Still a slight change will affect the section of video art, which now changes its name in “Other Visions”, and in which you will find experimental works.
The Polish Institute of Rome, founded in 1992, is an institution of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for public and cultural diplomacy. Its mission is to spread the Polish culture and history as well as to promote dialogue between Poland and Italy in the fields of culture, education, research and social life. Among the activities of the Institute, there are the presentation of exhibitions and films, the organization of conferences, meetings, performances and concerts.
