The two winners of the first edition of Cisterna Film Festival were Premiere Automne (Jury Prize) and Cuerdas (Audience Award). But another animation movie was very loved by the audience: Mute by Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins and Marieke Blaauw (2013, 4 minutes).
The short movie tells the story of a world populated by people without a mouth: how can be possible eating, kissing, talking, or making some other activities without it? A gory accident gives their lives a turn for the best. Mute was one of the most acclaimed film of the Festival, and praises a long list of selections and awards in many other international film festivals.
Job, Joris & Marieke is a studio for animation, illustration, character design and music. In 2015 the trio got a nomination to the Oscar with the work A single life: when playing a mysterious vinyl single, Pia is able to travel trough her life.
